Year 3 road trip to Dungeness

On Friday 22 September, Dungeness class visited our namesake place.

We climbed the lighthouse and learnt about why lighthouses are so important for boats.

Then, we looked at the geography of Dungeness on a map and had a go at drawing some of the physical features.

We visited the lifeboat station and were lucky enough to see the lifeboat up close. Vicky taught us about how important it is we stay safe in the water.

Finally, we ended the day on Dungeness beach where we had a talk from Owen, who is a ranger for Dungeness Nature Reserve.

Owen brought along all sorts of findings for us to have a look at and told us about beach and water litter and how dangerous it can be for the animals that live there.
